Myrtle Beach has been known for many years as one of the top vacation towns in the United States, and in 2018 not much has changed. Myrtle Beach comes in at number 1 for the FUN FACTOR. If you and the family cant find something to do here, you will not find much to do anywhere. With hundreds of attractions and a wide range of places to stay, it will be tough to beat for the family that has to keep moving on vacation. Something to keep in mind, check the calendar when planning your Myrtle Beach vacation to avoid extremely large crowds such as both Bike Weeks, this is not always the best time to have a family vacation in Myrtle Beach.

Edisto Island may not have as much to do as our 1 through 4 picks, but if you want peace and relaxation, mixed with outdoor activities and beautiful scenery, this may be the place for your family. Although attractions are limited, the Edisto Island Serpentarium is always a big hit with the kids! If reptiles are not your thing, go for a bike ride around the island and visit the Edisto Beach state park. Edisto is not for everyone, if you want the action-packed vacation, it may be a better choice to go with one of the above choices, but if you and the family want to get away from it all and still be near the beach, this could be the island for you.
